About

Northern Little League has been serving youth on the north side of Grand Rapids since 1953. Part of the original five leagues started by West Michigan philanthropist Bob Sullivan, the league was incorporated as a non-profit chartered member of Little League International in 1960 and remains one of the longest tenured chartered leagues in the region. The league has been annually providing community based baseball and softball to over 300 children ages 4-16 at the league complex in Riverside Park on Monroe Avenue in northeast Grand Rapids.

Our complex of five fields includes two little league regulation sized fields and a full sized regulation baseball diamond. Northern Little League owns and operates all of its own grounds and maintenance as a result of a lease agreement with the City of Grand Rapids – work that is done annually by volunteers! As with all chartered Little Leagues, we are run by volunteers, our seasons depend on a combination of sponsor donations, registration fees, concession stand profits, and fundraisers that include a trout pond at the Ultimate Sport, Fishing, and RV Show, and a travel team tournament in May.
